Episode Twenty-One: Boys It’s Time to Shine
·
Sugawara doesn’t have to worry! Hinata’s always
ready with just the right thing to say. Check out his literally shining eyes!
(Also Yamaguchi trying to keep Hinata in line those cuties)
·
HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE
HOW CUTE THIS SEQUENCE IS. SUGAWARA YOU ARE THE SMILING SENPAI OF MY HEART
·
Hinata’s just like look at you you’re hopeless
while Kageyama’s like shit HINATA’s lecturing me?
·
The mother-hen lecturing the papa-bird
·
Sugawara’ s awesome play right from the get go.
You’re in for a surprise if you underestimate Suga! Tsukishima got to look
pretty cool too!
·
Check out Sugawara being a kickass control
tower! Hinata got to look cool too! Not to mention adorable hair-ruffling! It’s
totally a mother-hen and a baby chick THEY’RE SO CUTE
·
‘…his drive to improve’. Thank you once again,
Take-sensei for providing the meaningful voice-overs.
·
Sugawara’s awesome is what I’m saying! He’s also
part of what makes this team adorable and awesome~
·
Daiichi doesn’t lose either! And you know when
the music starts up it’s going to be cool!
·
Kageyama and Sugawara’s heart to heart. You guys
are both so great
·
Enoshita you’re a reliable senpai too! You won’t
prove it this season, but you will eventually!
·
Hells yeah! You go Daiichi and Nishinoya! You
guys are both so cool. And Suga and Tanaka you don’t lose to them either!
·
The Karasuno setters’ monologues overlapping
with each other. Both of you are awesome and both of you are needed to win. I
love it.
·
The original Karasuno ace and setter team! You
guys are both so awesome.
·
And the coach saying the words Sugawara was
waiting for
·
Basically I love this entire team. I love all of
them. Please, let them achieve their dreams.
Episode Twenty-Two: Boys Start
to Change
·
KAGEYAMA TRYING TO SMILE. Let’s see, you have Hinata
the first to back away as fast as possible, Nishinoya reassuring him, and
Daiichi looking on like a proud father
·
Kageyama looking super happy and super intense
to be back on the court and a volleyball in his hands – a service ace off the
libero!
·
‘Kageyama just gave someone a high five…’ That
fact that Kageyama didn’t even know Tanaka was trying to go for a high five is
infinitely amusing to me
·
The freak quick is back in action!
·
‘Are you my boss?’ Kageyama’s trying so hard and
it’s adorable
·
‘You are also the strongest!’
·
Kageyama earnestly trying with Tsukishima, and
Tsukishima being so thrown off for once. You guys make a great duo too you
know!
·
Tsukishima FUCKING KILLING IT. And his surprised
expression when Kageyama sends a toss his way again
·
‘Knuf – nuff –nice.’ WOW THIS CUTE DORK RIGHT
HERE
·
He’s even cuter in middle school! Look at the
shining face of youth!
·
Iwaizumi and Oikawa’s bond
·
I’m sorry but Oikawa was so much cuter in middle
school. SO MUCH CUTER. What happened? ‘Would you like a tissue?’ They were all
so much cuter!
·
Leave it to Nishinoya!
·
Kageyama pulling Tsukishima and making an
emotional judgement like wow. (Plus why are all the one second cuts so clearly
drawn while the extended shots we see get all QUALITY)
·
Nishinoya ruffling the hairs of two players 20+
centimeters taller than him. Also, hey yeah, character development! Don’t
underestimate Mr.Refreshing even though you gave him the worst nickname.
Episode Twenty-Three: Boys Step
Up
·
A cool shot of Hinata to start off with
·
Karasuno has THE ULTIMATE LIBERO
·
COME ON, TAKE KARASUNO UP A NOTCH! LET’S SEE YOU
GUYS AT 120%! And Oikawa being instinctively wary of that tiny beast. Ehehehe,
that’s a good instinct…
·
‘The attack that seems to rip through the air’
Good monologue too!
·
The more you think he’s done for, the brighter
he shines! Ahhh this is why Hinata’s my favourite!
·
Even if it was just for a little bit, seeing
Seijou (esp Oikawa) thinking so seriously about how to counter Hinata’s attack.
·
When Ukai looks towards the stands for
inspiration and the moment his former teammate realizes what he’s about to do
·
Yamaguchi steps onto the court and it’s like
WELCOME TO THE BIG LEAGUES MOTHERFUCKER
·
I like how everyone’s nervous except Kageyama’s
just like well at least my head is safe. (But they missed out on Nishinoya’s
bit in the manga, where he just goes ‘haha if it was Asahi or Shouyo they’d go
into cardiac arrest and we’d have to call 119’ LIKE HOW CUTE IS THAT WHY WOULD
YOU CUT IT)
·
Yamaguchi! I’m so proud of you! You’re going to
get so much better from here. Lecturing Tsukishima, thwart Nishinoya…especially
that last one man, you have no idea how much I loved it. The moment when
Nishinoya easily receives Asahi’s jump serve then confidently goes for the next
one only to miss – the best libero around missing a receive – and looks up to
see Yamaguchi. I’m so proud of this baby.
·
Daiichi being a great captain as always and THAT
GORGEOUS SHOT OF THE TEAM ALL PUMPED UP
·
Another amazing receive combo from Tanaka and
Hinata!
·
Nishinoyaaaaaaaaaaa!
·
Kageyama and Hinata’s perfect combo! The imagery
of Karasuno grabbing at victory! Kiyoko’s thrilled expression! Oikawa’s shocked
one!
Episode Twenty-Four: Boys Will
Be Fine Tomorrow Too
·
More hair-ruffling from Nishinoya! QT
·
Hinata’s beautiful recovery and MY TWO FAVOURITE
SHORTIE’S HIGH FIVE. I get so ridiculously pleased whenever I see them together
because I love them so much.
·
Deuce is so awesome and intense because it’ll
constantly shift between match points for either team
·
Nishinoya, seriously nice call!
·
The rally between the two team chasing each
other affecting everyone, even Kiyoko
·
Ugh, I hate you but that serve was seriously
cool Oikawa!
·
[CHARACTER DEVELOPS LOUDLY]
·
And here we can see the precise moment when
every manga reader started crying
·
Every spectator watching them clapping for them
because how could you not? After seeing the fight they gave. They were so
great. I JUST WANTED TO SEE THEM ACHIEVE WHAT THEY’VE DREAMED OF.
·
“‘Even if one person is good, you can’t win.
Don’t mind.’ Isn’t that what you were going to tell them?” But he can’t now,
because Karasuno was better than that. (If Karasuno doesn’t crush Seijou in the
Spring High prelim arc, I don’t know what I’d do)
·
In times of trouble, the teacher appears,
speaking words of wisdom. Let it be.
·
And when the broken hearted people, living in
the world agree. There will be an answer, let it be.
·
When the night is cloudy there is still a light
that shines on me, shine on until tomorrow
·
Let it be.
Episode Twenty-Five: Boys Be
Ambitious!!
Wasn’t that great? Wasn’t that
the best? Didn’t you fall in love all over again??
·
A look at everyone’s classrooms
·
Nishinoya and Tanaka sitting around looking
serious in gakurans…it makes them look like members of a gang. (Gang of
volleyball dorks)
·
Don’t do it Daiichi. Graduation is death in
sports anime.
·
Yamaguchi YOU’RE SO GREAT. Volleyball you’ll get
better at, but you – you’re already great.
·
‘I’m not playing volleyball for merit’. [TEARS
UP] Sugawara…don’t you want to show this boy the greatest stage? Don’t you want
to see him stand together with his team on that shining court?
·
When Hinata bursts into the gym, Kageyama just
tosses the ball at him without a word. What a change from the first
episode. Oh I’m so proud of how far
these two have come, and how far they’ll go.
·
The fact that it was a day off AND EVERY SINGLE
ONE OF THESE WEIRDOS SHOWED UP. This is one detail that they did better than
the manga. Even though they cut a lot of stuff out, I loved the fact that they
made it so Ukai considerately gave them a day off BUT EVERY SINGLE OF ONE OF
THESE VOLLEYBALL NERDS WENT TO PRACTICE ANYWAY.
