Angel Beats! was this show that had ridiculously srsbsns tear jerking moments alongside ridiculously running gag LOL moments. And for some reason balanced them ridiculously well.

It could actually have me laughing out loud at the show's various running gags, and the hilarious characters. It had me bawling my eyes out even though I knew that the emo backstories were much too clichéd for me to care. It had me squealing at how adorable the relationships were between the characters. Yes that includes Otonashishishi and Nao. *winku*

What with the individual quirks of each character, the funny references, and the moments that were just that, the only thing I disliked was the ending. (of course)
The ending felt incredibly rushed, and when that weird programmed dude showed up I was almost hitting my head on the desk. Angel Beats! deserves more than 13 episodes. Like, where's my TK episode? Or more GirlDeMo concerts? And the plot holes! Someone resolve the plot holes!

Otonashi was mostly useless as a male lead~ Yurippe was fun in her own way. I loved how cute Tenshi was in the exam episode and after. TK has awesomesauce English. (Bytheway, Sengoku no Night Raid has the most hilarious Chinese ever. As in, the most fail.) Much bromance going on with Hinata and Nao, with Nao being so freaking adorable. Squish~ But again, the limited time didn't let us explore all the people of the SSS Brigade. I mean, the SOS Battlefront. I mean, the SSS Battlefront. Or was it actually the Afterlife Battlefront?

Really, a home run season for Kamiya eh? What with Otonashi, Araragi, Riku and Izaya. How many top hits of the season is that? And they're all male leads! Well, Izaya is debatable, but he is pretty important. (fur coat)

Girls Dead Monster would really be a rival for Afterschool Tea Time. Their Jpop songs are more my style too. I mean, just think, if there was another Yui with the same chipmunk voice! D: Mio's songs are still top-class, although I think it'll take a while for the new one, No Thank You to beat the awesomeness that is Listen! and Don't Say Lazy. Tenshi's piano OP was excellent, paired with great hand motions. My Soul, My Beats didn't take long for me to love it either.

I was apprehensive at first too, seeing the character designs with their blocky hair and square-ish eyes. But it also surprised me. The fight scenes, especially between Yuri and Tenshi were very well animated (although not loli vampire level) Her guard skills were nice too, along with all the futuristic hologram screens. The animation during the GirlDeMo concerts were excellent too, and I loved the effect with all the meal tickets, willing suspension of disbelief turned on of course.

I can't believe I liked this show. I mean, on one hand, I was totally convinced they were trying for a lulzy, comedy show set in a weird plot scenerio...but Jun Maeda and crying girls. So on the other hand we have srsbsns, crying in the rain, crying in the snow, crying indoors, crying outdoors. While I was basically hoping they'd just push the whole show in the lighthearted comedy thing instead of all the srsbsns but for some strange deus ex machina way...it worked.

And so, I loved Angel Beats! Another great show begging for a second season!(I'm looking at you Bakemonogatari) Just think of the plot holes...
